Question by M K: I'm interested in working with human rights (sex trafficking), what kind of major do I need?

I know human rights groups are in the government and law enforcement field, but if I wanted to work towards rescuing girls from sex traffickers, particularly in foreign countries, what kind of major would I need to study? Foreign affairs?

I majored in Government and minored in Criminal Justice. A college advisor could probably best answer this question based on the school you plan to attend. Unless your school has an International Relations concentration in Government, I would steer clear of being a Government major. I would focus on sociology or criminal justice.
